With this gift, the Ricardo do Espírito Santo Silva Foundation (FRESS) was born, dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich legacy of Portuguese decorative arts and craftsmanship.
Today, FRESS is home to the Museum of Portuguese Decorative Arts, a remarkable collection showcasing exquisite furniture, silverware, paintings, and decorative objects from the 18th century. The Foundation also runs a school dedicated to the teaching of traditional crafts, offering expert training in conservation, restoration, and artisan techniques: the Escola de Artes e Ofícios.
