If you want a trip a little off the beaten track, now is the time to discover Cacilhas, a pretty town on the other side of the river and the historical center of Almada. Included in the price of the ticket is entrance to the Fragata D. Fernando II e Glória Museum, which is the last ship to travel the route to India, and a gourmet stop for cake "torta de azeitão" and a traditional drink.
