Ever wondered about the genesis of characters within a writer’s mind? And how these imaginative beings are transformed into individuals who resonate, captivate, and linger in our thoughts? While narratives and plots draw us into stories, it's often the characters that forge an indelible connection to the pages of a great book. IWP member and author Diann Schindler will unravel the intricacies behind character creation. She will delve into the artistry of protagonists and antagonists who not only ignite our imaginations but etch themselves into our memories.

Diann Schindler, Ph.D. served 25 years in higher education, first as an English professor, then ultimately, college president. When she retired, she dabbled in tennis, music, and blogging. Yet, her fantasy was to travel and author books. In 2015, after selling her house, her car, and all her possessions, save her tennis racket and guitar, her dream came true. Diann began her odyssey in Portugal and four years later, she had explored 46 countries and published two books. She published her first thriller, “Claim Denied” in 2021 and then the sequel,“What Lies Beneath the Willow” in 2023.
