On October 5, 1910, a republican uprising put an end to more than 800 years of monarchy, drastically changing Portugal's political regime. On a visit to the Museum of the Presidency, we'll talk about the revolution, the new Republic and its symbols, such as the anthem, the flag, the badges of honor (heirlooms from the time of the kings), as well as its new representatives. On a journey through the last 113 years, we'll talk about the various presidents we've had and the historic moments that have marked this young democracy, from its affirmation as a regime, through the Estado Novo dictatorship to the Carnation Revolution. Old documents and diplomatic gifts will also help us to see the Portuguese Republic in a different and special light.
