Living in Portugal and with the IWP

19 Jun, 2020
Useful information and testimonials on adjusting to living in Portugal.

We are incredibly happy to welcome you to Portugal and we truly hope you enjoy the information made available in this section of our website.

As you may know, there are many books, brochures, guides and numerous Facebook pages with endless recommendations on how to settle in Portugal. There are a myriad of opinions and lists which will take you weeks to read and decipher.

Very few of these books and websites have the testimonials of real women who have been through the move from abroad and (through the highs and lows) learned how to live (and find their way) in Portugal.

Where to go for a haircut? When is Cascais market open? How to get a bus pass or a highway toll gadget (via verde) for your car?

In the following articles, you will find great information on shopping, banking, education, cultural activities, plus much more. All of this has been reviewed by IWP members who have lived in Portugal for several years and which we hope will help you settle down, cut a few corners and make this new place a real home for you and your family.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the IWP Executive Board as well as supporting members who have reviewed and updated information in these articles.
